3 Reasons To Replace Wall Outlets

How do you know when the time is right to change your wall outlets? Cracked outlet plates, burnt or charred covers and “middle-aged” technology are three tell-tale signs that it’s time for a replacement. Not only will you give your house an updated look, you’ll increase your family’s health and safety.

Cracked Outlet Plates

You may have been living with a cracked outlet plate years because you didn’t realize how dangerous it can be. Cracks attract dust and lint which can cause a fire when the outlet heats up. In addition, make sure to replace the receptacle if it doesn’t grip the prongs firmly.

Burned Outlet Covers

If you notice black or brown coloration on your outlet covers, you may already have a problem. Ungrounded wires can get really hot and start to melt the plastic. If this is the case, call an electrician immediately to rewire the outlet and replace the cover to eliminate the risk of a fire. That’s where we come in!

New Technology, Old Outlets

How old are the outlets in your house? Chances are, they are the same ones that were installed when your house was built. Now think about all of the new technological gadgets you use on a daily basis. They all require electricity right? Just like your electronics, outlets should be updated as they wear out over time.
