The Perfect Plan For Light Bulb Shopping

Ever take a spin down the light bulb aisle in your local home improvement store? It can be overwhelming. With shelves full of different sizes, shapes and strengths the average homeowner can feel defeated rather quickly. Well, in order to conquer the light bulb aisle you need to come up with a plan.

First, think about all the money you can save just by making a few simple improvements. Changing light bulbs won’t cost you a fortune and it only takes a few minutes to swap them out.

Now, it’s time for the next step. Grab a pen and a piece of paper and take a walk through your home. Jot down a tally mark for all of the light bulbs you come across – you can even organize them by room or section of the house. This way, you’ll have a total number of light bulbs to buy.

Then, next to each part of the house, write down the type of fixture you see. Be sure to include the type of bulb that is currently in each fixture so you’ll know exactly what to replace them with.

Don’t forget to include a note for any area of the house that already has an efficient bulb in place – you can cross those off the list. And remember, if you can’t afford to replace all of the light bulbs at once, prioritize your list. Start with the areas of the house where you turn the lights on the most.

Need help with any step of the process? That’s what we’re here for! Call on the expert electricians at Lon Lockwood Electric today and we’ll help you be on your way to a greener home.
