You know that you like spending time outside on warm summer evenings and you know you need some lighting out there for when the sun goes down. But where exactly do you need that lighting?
Placement is important, so see below for a few tips:
The first thing you need to think about is where permanent fixtures are needed. This is where you will need task lighting and where safety can be a concern. Do you like cooking outside? A low- or line-voltage flood light can be mounted on a wall near the grill so you can see what you are cooking. After all, nobody likes a burnt bar-b-q.
You also need to keep in mind that insects are often attracted to bright lights. It’s not a good idea to place them near seating areas. Instead, you may want to try placing them far away near trees so lure them away from the patio.
